well hello everybody. March is upon us in fine style here in sweden, the past few days have been sunny and in the 40´s and we can even see patches of ground! very exciting i know. Well two weeks ago we had break and my girlfriend kristen came to visit me! It was really nice to see her again and have her meet the friends ive made here, it was a good time. We went to stockholm the weekend before last, it was really nice to be in actualy city again with things open past 8 hahaha. We just kinda walk around and enjoyed ourselves. I drove kristen to the airport early monday morning, i was rather heart broken to see her go but i know i will see her again in 4 months or so. But its also made me miss home and make me look at what we are doing here. The past few days ive felt rather put off. I guess i feel like i should be doing more here, i read other blog posts from the other groups and they all seem to be doing alot all the time. We just are shifted from class to class and for the most part i feel like we are more of a fill in. After school we just go home, we dont have a youth center to help out with or touter anyone we have to keep ourselves occupied. This all perspective and i may just be alittle homesick since kristen left but i just am going to look around here for something more i can do.

If it makes you feel better, it's not that the other teams are all super busy all the time. The Paraguay team members definitely make a conscious effort to fill their time with useful activities. It seems the England team is always finding new places to volunteer too... meaning, I suspect, that they are always looking to fill time in useful ways. Take courage! Look for good things to do, and keep busy -- just don't feel alone, because I assure you that you are not.
All my best,
Dorothea
Sam! I feel your pains of boredom/uselessness. Maybe we are all in the same boat together. Rachel and I have talked about how we don't feel like we are doing anything substantial either, and feel that it doesn't really matter if we do "our jobs" or not, because it felt like we aren't being used. But! There's a bigger picture, meaning, just think of all the neat Swedish things you are learning, and the friends you are making!
It`s not that our schedules are jam-packed with exciting activities, it`s just that I, at least, am less prone to write about down time spent doing nothing much. I, too, feel as if I could be utilized more.
My prayers are with you as you struggle through this..
